Founded in 2014, ALE is a community of interest in the use of data to support learning through effective teaching and instructional design.

The primary goals of the group are to

1. Receive inspiration and assistance in the formation of questions that might guide the use of data to optimize learning and learning environments,
2. Share current interests and projects, in order to receive feedback and encouragement, and to develop possibilities for future collaboration, and
3. Gain exposure to the field of learning analytics (language, key concepts, methodologies, etc) through access to experts
