The David Heath endowed lectureship has been made possible by the generosity of Dana Ruben Rogers, ’87C, and Greg Rogers. This lectureship honors the memory of David Heath (1940-2005), whose enthusiasm for modern and contemporary art made his Heath Gallery (1965-1998) a pioneering Atlanta showcase for those seeking fresh, new work and a stimulating art scene. He was a generous mentor to collectors and artists alike and was especially generous to those Emory students who worked as interns in this vibrant environment, often continuing to mentor them well beyond graduation. Among the interns who benefitted from David’s warm encouragement and friendship was Dana Ruben Rogers.
