District Alignment

BUILDING FOR CHANGE

District Alignment

District Alignment focuses on the strategic incorporation of Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning within a school district’s educational framework.

This involves aligning SEE Learning with the district’s strategic and restorative models, ensuring it complements broader educational goals through compassion-based practices.

Clear communication channels are established for transparency, informing the school community about SEE Learning’s role in relation to other initiatives. Collaboration is key, involving coordinators to raise awareness and integrate SEE Learning to support community objectives. For example, SEE Learning can be woven into existing systems like PBIS or IB as practices that are aligned with the framework or profile of the behaviors or outcomes the school system aims to support.

Examples of this domain in action

SEE Learning created Inner Development Goals (IDG’s) to foster systemic changes for people, communities, and the environment. The IDG dimensions contain the skills needed to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals created by the United Nations.
