Instructure will release updates to our Canvas environment Saturday, December 21, 2019. Highlights include the following.
- All users have a notification option for Alerts > Global Announcements (the default setting is immediately via email), and system administrators have an option to send global announcements via notification channels.
- In New Quizzes, students are warned about numeric answer fields containing non-numeric characters.
There are also important changes coming in January 2020.
- New Gradebook will replace the current gradebook on January 18. The course-level New Gradebook feature option has been activated for all official Spring 2020 courses.
- We plan to activate the New Course and User Analytics interface in all courses around January 18.
Teachers may activate the New Gradebook or New Course and User Analytics now in their course settings area’s Feature Options tab. Click here to view upcoming changes planned beyond the current Canvas release.
