Sustainable energy sources for human activity are now the most important scientific and technological challenges for the 21st century. Major advances in solar energy conversion concepts, materials and technology will require highly multidisciplinary research efforts that build upon advances in synthetic sciences, physical characterization, computational modeling, material sciences, nanotechnology, and biological science. To better meet this challenges, the Emory Consortium of Renewable Energy Research and Education is formed. The mission of the Consortium is:
- Facilitate interdisciplinary renewable research efforts by enhancing collaboration among Consortium members and with Emory faculty.
- Enhance renewable research education through research, seminars, course works and conferences.
- Facilitate the development of infrastructure for renewable energy research, training and education.
