The Hill group designs, prepares and investigates complex large molecules, including polyoxometalates (POMs), and nanomaterials with specific structural, electronic and/or dynamic features that define them to be of potential value in catalysis, sensing, medicine and nanoscience, focusing on detection and decontamination of environmentally toxic compounds, green catalytic solutions to global problems, light-driven water splitting for sustainable fuels, inorganic/organometallic light harvesting materials for solar energy and understanding reaction mechanisms for better catalysis.
