“The Mirrors of Las Meninas” by Byron Ellsworth Hamann depicted globalization in the 17th century. Globalization in the twenty-first century had a substantial growth in the first decade, possibly the highest rate of globalization through the employment of new technology like air travel and the internet. However, there is a rapid twist after that due to geopolitical conflict and rising nationalism in most major countries. 

One word about today’s globalization would be connection, both in physical and virtue. The development of the internet creates an international forum whereas the flourishment in cross-continental transportation. The influence of the internet gives us a chance to gather astronomical amounts of information, where we can find any knowledge all around the world. News, arts, and ideas spread out to every corner of the world at the speed of light, and people usually have equal access to this information. Therefore, people know more and more about other cultures and learn to see the world in perspective. On the other hand, the internet also creates dissatisfaction since the wealth gap is more present to everyone. Cross-continental travel and transportation of goods are becoming increasingly common too. People can travel to a different country in just one night or buy a good from the thousands miles away and receive it in less than a week.
