I am very impressed with the different types of projects and techniques used to promote art and art history in that sense. First, I am fascinated by the 3D modeling that is historically accurate and interacted with. Falda’s map of Rome project is a great source for people to study early modern Rome’s architecture and overall setting. In addition, I also found Readux a great platform to share artistic knowledge. Readux is very straightforward and gives people a chance to learn detailed information about different artworks and their background. I especially appreciate how Readux’s ability to organize complex ideas into one collection or folder allows people to explore more and more deeply.

Although it is still a very early stage, I think a combination of Readux or another similar platform would be a suitable digital tool for my project. And even though I am not completely sure what I am going to focus on as a theme, some Asian baroque art style and artworks are ideal since I am able to read in their native languages and documents. I also visited some baroque style churches in China which provide a handful of first hand experience that could help me with my project. In addition, I also found many interesting, yet funky, imitations of baroque art in modern China where people like this kind of artistic style in their newly renovated house or in hotels. Although they are neither real baroque art in a stricker term, it is interesting to learn how an artistic style evolves and is rooted in a foreign environment.
