Exploring the Healing Power of Football

The Football Is Medicine (FIM) Global Network is a global scientific forum organizing various activities, including an annual conference, workshops, coaching courses, PhD courses and events around the world. The FIM platform was established in 2018 by Professor Peter Krustrup and a group of international colleagues to consolidate regional research networks and multicenter collaborations. Today, FIM has approximately 250 scholars from 22 countries on five continents contributing to the generation of evidence about the physical, mental, and social health benefits of Football and other team-based recreational sports. A summary of the scientific evidence and global implementation examples around FIM can be found here. A summary of the evidence related to Emory’s Hubert Department of Global Health is the hub of FIM/Soccer 4 Health research, educational and programmatic activities in North America, led by Drs Felipe Lobelo and Jennifer Frediani.
