Alejandro Lopez, PhD Candidate, Neuroscience Graduate Program, Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Emory University

Background and Research Interests: Alejandro received his BS with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biological Sciences from San José State University. During his time as an undergraduate, he used an in vitro muscle-nerve preparation technique to study the effects of systemic inflammation caused by diet-induced obesity on muscle proprioceptor activity in mice. Alejandro is currently pursuing his PhD in the Neuroscience Graduate Program within the Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Emory University. He is interested in using neurophysiology techniques to study motor function following neurologic impairment, such as stroke or spinal cord injury.
