Welcome!

This site provides an online home for the research done during the Spring 2021 semester in SPAN/LING 410, Section 2: Teaching a Third Language. In this class we focused on the teaching of courses such as Portuguese for Spanish Speakers, Italian for Spanish Speakers, etc., in which students are learning a third language (L3) in a formal, institutionalized way. As a class project, SPAN 410 students carried out interviews with professors at other universities who have created and/or taught these kinds of classes in the past. Our hope is that these interviews will be of interest to those at Emory, and elsewhere, hoping to learn more about the benefits of adding such classes to their curricula.
