I suppose you could say “a meeting of the minds” describes Friday’s Celebration of Scholarship & Creative Expression at Oxford College. This 15th annual celebration was held Friday, April 12th in the Oxford College Library recognizing the scholarly and creative endeavors during the past year of Oxford College faculty, emeritus faculty and staff. Approximately 80 exhibit works are on display by over 40 contributors.
“The library staff always look forward to the Celebration of Scholarship and Creative Expression exhibit and reception so we can showcase and celebrate the scholarly and creative accomplishments of Oxford faculty and staff. The location in the library means students can enjoy seeing these works on display in an accessible presentation.” – Courtney Baron, Head of Library Teaching & Outreach Services
Formerly called Inspired Performance, the Celebration of Scholarship & Creative Expression highlights a convergence of all disciplines on the Oxford College campus through a number of mediums in interactive formats such as digital presentations, books, news excepts, bound journal articles, conference presentations and posters, a hand-crafted theatrical costume, and framed works in graphite pencil and dry point.
The reception was hosted by Oxford College Dean Douglas Hicks, Academic Affairs Dean and CAO Kenneth Anderson, and Library Dean Kitty McNeill, and was compiled and set for exhibit by the library staff.
