As you may know, Finals Season is officially upon us! But fear not, Oxford College Library has got what you need to study hard and destress even harder. Here is a Final Exam Survival Kit with essential library resources for you to ace your finals and sail smoothly to the end of the semester.
Library Spaces:
- Looking for a place to study, meet with your club, or hide from your most distracting “study buddy”? Book a library study room!
- Library study rooms are located on the second floor of the library and are open for use during all library hours and can be booked for up to 3 hours.
Technology and Equipment:
- We have more than just books! In the words of Patrick Star, we have technology. The library checks out a huge variety of technology and equipment, from laptops and iPads to projectors, calculators, and button makers. Check out our Tech!
- Beyond the equipment available for checkout, the library has computers available for students with software such as Adobe Creative Suite and ArcMap installed.
Printing:
- The library has a black and white, and a color printer available for use. The easiest way to print either at the library or at any Emory printer is to upload your document to EaglePrint’s MyPrintCenter. Once your document has been uploaded and your print options selected, you then just need to swipe your Emory ID at either of the library printers.
- Find more tips on printing!
Research Help:
- Need help with a class project or research? The library is here to support you! If you ever have a quick question such as having trouble finding an article or creating a citation you can contact us with Live Chat on the Ask a Librarian page or by texting your question to (770) 415-8963.
- Need more in-depth help on a project? Book a research appointment with a librarian! This is a 30-minute one-on-one appointment with a librarian who can help you with finding sources, developing a research question, or any research related questions you may have. You can even schedule an appointment for your whole group if you need help with a group project. We love to help with all things research!
- Just looking for a place to start your research? Look through the Oxford Library Research Guides. These guides are designed to help you find the best databases or resources for a class or subject.
Take a Break:
- Studying is half the battle! Rest and relaxation are also important to ensure you can give every exam your best. The library encourages everyone to take a break and relax. In this pursuit, we try our best to provide leisure resources to the Oxford College Community. The library has a great collection of popular reading books including our large graphic novel collection.
- Other popular reading books are available to browse on the first floor of the library or online with Library Search. You can request books from any of the Emory libraries and pick them up at Oxford Library.
- Additionally, check out the Emory Libraries Overdrive Collection, for reading eBooks and audiobooks on the go! Download the Libby app and log in with your NetID to access the OverDrive Collection on your personal device from anywhere!
- Annoyed with paying for subscriptions to streaming services? We also offer movies to watch through streaming services like Kanopy on our website and physical DVDs. We also check out DVD and Blu-Ray players. Find out how to access your next favorite movie for free!
- Want a book or movie that we don’t have in our collection? Feel free to suggest a purchase!
- Want to unplug and unwind with a fun game? Check out a board game from the library’s extensive game collection. Nothing says friendship like making your friends draw 4 cards in Uno! (;
We hope this Survival Kit helps you finish the semester strong. Remember to study hard, eat food, drink water, hug your loved ones, and touch grass!
