This summer at Pitts we are celebrating the 500th anniversary of the publication of the first Greek New Testament with an exhibit on Erasmus of Rotterdam and the development of the Bible in the 16th century. This exhibit will display Pitts’ incredible collection of early printed Bibles, including all five editions of the Greek New Testament published during Erasmus’ lifetime. Including alongside these rare volumes will be items that show the development of Erasmus as a scholar and the enormous influence his Greek New Testament exhibited on the development of the Bible. Included will be early editions of Greek, Latin, and vernacular Bibles, including a first edition of the King James Bible. We invite you to circle July 15 on your calendar to mark the opening of this exhibit, which will run through September 15th. Please visit http://pitts.emory.edu/exhibits if you have any questions, or you would like to schedule a tour of the exhibit. Come celebrate with us this great Dutch humanist and the impact he has made on all those who read the Bible!
