Dr. Brandon Fricker, along with Dr. Aubrey Kelly and lab collaborators published work in Current Biology with their breakthrough research to identify the circuitry in the brain that drives the need for spiny mice to exist in large social groups.
“To our knowledge, this is the first study to identify neural circuitry that promotes group-size preferences in a mammal… We hope that our work paves the way for new insights into complex social behaviors in a range of mammals, including humans.” says Dr. Kelly. We cannot wait to see where this new researches takes us!
