Chloe Wegrzynowicz –DQ 10

I have chosen the key-word camp.

DEFINITION: I think it means over-the-top and wildly ironic but w/o cringe.

PURPOSE: I intend to create a poem. An example of this format is any poem, and some of the generic conventions of this format are following forms, rhyme or no rhyme, allowing the reader to apply meaning, etc. .

CONTENT: I intend to talk about my key-word in relation to poetry and examples

COURSE THEMATIC: I think that my key concept intersects/overlaps with class in these ways:

  1. queering reading (i.e. the word itself is queer)
  2. queer culture (it is (I think) rooted in queer life)
  3. It can be used to describe things which may apply to other areas of the class like identity and life

QUESTIONS: I am struggling with/ cannot seem to figure out/ do not know how to approach the etymology. I would like more clarification on the etymology and context. I need support with finding information about contexts in which this term is used..

SOURCES: I have decided to use the following five sources, because: .

  • Notes on Camp
  • Wikipedia
  • The Dictionary
