Effective September 1, 2009, all active FAS grant accounts were converted from the old systems to the new Compass system. Data was combined from the OSP Pre-award database and FAS for migration to Compass. Pending proposals submitted within the past eighteen months were also converted from the OSP Pre-award database to Compass.

OSP and OGCA will have the opportunity to identify the full award period for a grant, as well as the individual budget periods for that grant when setting up a new award in the system. For converted data, however, it is important to understand that the entire award period (formerly referred to as the project period) became a single budget period. Therefore, as you review Compass information for converted grants, do not be alarmed if separate budget periods are not reflected. It is also important to understand that grants which are set up as new or renewal awards directly in Compass may look different in this respect from converted awards.
