About me

I am a biocultural anthropologist passionate about the out of doors and specifically mountain areas. My research is about what contributes to a good life and how social and ecological systems interact to shape well-being. I seek to understand how well-being is affected by changing ecosystems, landscapes, and climates. I work in the European Alps, the Apennines, and the Apuane Alps.

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Emory University. I am researching how social and ecological systems interact to shape human and animal well-being in the Garfagnana region of northern Tuscany, Italy. I study the impact of climate, landscape, and ecological change on farmers and beekeepers. I also research how farmers and beekeepers understand and respond to wildlife including the threat wildlife poses to farm survival and the health of domesticated animals.
