For the fourth year in a row, Emory University Libraries will host a local event for the Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. Art + Feminism is a worldwide campaign to improve coverage of women and the arts on Wikipedia and to empower new editors.
On 3/21/19, we will have computers, reference materials, and dinner available.

Art+Feminism (A+F) Wikipedia Edit-a-thon aims to give better online representation to important women figures in the arts (including but not limited to visual arts, performing arts, and literary arts). We are one of many organizations hosting such an event, including Emory’s Oxford campus on Monday, March 4, 6-8 pm and the High Museum of Art on March 30th
What is A+F About?
Wikipedia is the largest encyclopedia in the world and anyone can edit it – yet less than 10 percent of Wikipedia editors are women! Prominent women in the arts are also much less documented on Wikipedia than their male counterparts. The goal of this event and the global movement is to amplify the voices of cis and transgender women, non-binary individuals, feminism, and the arts by giving them due coverage on Wikipedia.
All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend and make a positive difference in how we talk and write about women on the Internet. No experience required – we’ll teach you all you need to know to participate. FOOD WILL BE SERVED! rsvp
What You’ll Do:
- Learn how to edit Wikipedia
- Contribute edits to an article about a woman artist of your choice
- Discuss the representation of women online with fellow Emory community members
