Emory Libraries enhance services and spaces for Spring 2021

Emory Libraries remain committed to supporting library users by offering innovative access to library collections and services, and library spaces in alignment with guidelines prescribed by Emory Forward to ensure a safe learning environment. New services this Spring include a Ship to Home pilot for students engaged in remote learning, and self-service outdoor library lockers providing no-contact pickup of requested library materials 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on the Main Emory Campus. Please see below for additional information on enhanced services and access to library spaces during Spring 2021:

The Spring 2021 pilot program is limited to domestic shipment of materials at this time. Advance registration required.

Interlibrary loan of requested materials from outside the Emory Libraries system: Submit requests electronically via the ILLiad interlibrary loan system. If you have any questions about how ILL can support your research, please contact mainill [at] emory [dot] edu or 404-727-6874.

Library Spaces

Make a reservation: During the spring 2021 semester, physical access to university libraries is by appointment and limited to currently enrolled students, faculty and staff that have completed the Spring 2021 Onboarding process. A valid Emory ID Card is required to enter the buildings. Please reference the Emory Forward website for updated University guidelines and current operating status.

Before you visit the library, remember to check the library’s hours: Due to the university’s COVID-19 restrictions, operational hours will be limited. Be sure to check library hours before you visit.

Study spaces are open with lower maximum capacity: To ensure physical distancing, group study rooms have a lower maximum capacity. Most study rooms have a maximum set capacity of one person, while some study rooms allow for four people. (There is clear signage posted outside of each study room indicating the maximum capacity.) Appointments are required.

Mask up and no food, please: A face covering is required inside all libraries at all times (even in study rooms, as these spaces are shared by many). Because face coverings are required in library spaces, please eat snacks and meals outdoors. Beverages are permitted, so long as you remove your mask only while drinking.

Maintain physical distancing: Library furniture has been reconfigured to allow for physical distancing. Please keep a distance of 6 feet from others at all times.
