CDC/NCAR Workshop on Weather, Climate and Health 2017

I returned to Colorado less than a month after the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Graduate Workshop on Environmental Data Analytics to attend the joint Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)/NCAR Workshop on Weather, Climate and Health. This was an impressive group of scientists in the Climate & Health field discussing new findings and future challenges. NCAR scientists Drs. Andrew Monaghan and Mary Hayden were especially supportive of my work with Yersinia pestis and provided insight from their plague research in East Africa. It was also a great opportunity to catch up with CDC National Center for Environmental Health Climate and Health Program collaborators who consulted on my dissertation proposal.
