I presented preliminary results from my second dissertation aim at the annual Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Disease (EEID) meeting in Glasgow, Scotland. This was the first meeting outside of the United States and there was a different set of attendees, mainly from universities around the United Kingdom. The poster session was well attended and received valuable suggestions on how to draw inference from my predictive models. I found a couple other scientists working onĀ Yersinia pestis, too, around the world which meant instant camaraderie and talks of future collaborations. Travel costs were supported by a Laney Graduate Student Council Travel Grant.
