I presented preliminary results from my second dissertation aim at the 103rd annual meeting of the Ecological Society of America (ESA) in New Orleans, Louisiana. The agenda was packed with disease ecology sessions a welcomed increase since by first attendance in 2011. The poster session was well attended with many spatial ecologists stopping by to ask about our new ecological niche model framework. My neighboring poster was also on plague research presented by David Markman (PhD Candidate, Colorado State University) about his soil amoeba and Yersinia pestis work. Kudos to the session organizers! Travel costs were supported by an Ecological Society of America Student Section Travel Award.
