About me

Welcome to my site! My name is Claire W. Seidler and I am a PhD candidate studying ancient Greek art and architecture at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I have had a longstanding passion for the architecture of the ancient Greek world, an interest that has brought me to fieldwork on the island of Yeronisos off the coast of Cyprus and the northern Aegean island of Samothrace in Greece.

As a PhD student at Emory, my research has focused on the architecture within the Sanctuary of the Great Gods on the island of Samothrace. While my master’s thesis focused on roof decoration within the sanctuary, my dissertation addresses a cluster of dining rooms that will further reveal the importance of space for sacred dining.
