Divinylcyclopropane intermediates can be isolated from the [3 + 4] cycloaddition reaction between rhodium(II) acetate-stabilized vinylcarbenoids and cyclopentadiene. This result confirms that the reaction proceeds through a tandem cyclopropanation/Cope rearrangement sequence.
