October 16, 1923: Walt Disney and M. J. Winkler sign an agreement for Disney to produce a series called “Alice Comedies.” Five years before the existence of Mickey Mouse, this date is considered to be the founding of The Disney Brothers Studio. A few years later, in January of 1926, the company would change names to Walt Disney Studios.
