Every semester, we publish an interdisciplinary neuroscience journal issue of all undergraduate student-produced articles, art, and media with the goal of dismantling the intimidating stigma attached to neuroscience — we hope to foster an environment where STEM and non-STEM students alike feel empowered to engage in scientific literature and knowledge. We believe accurate scientific education should be available to everyone, regardless of educational background; our journal issues aim to both spark interest in neuroscience and make it easier for readers to participate in meaningful discussions about various neuroscience-related topics. Our publications incorporate a range of other disciplines in addition to neuroscience, from art and music to philosophy and English. The interdisciplinary nature of Grey Matters allows participating students to develop professional skills that can serve them both in the scientific community as well in their own specific fields.
