Library Grand Opening

In an August 24 ceremony, Oxford College’s new library and academic commons was officially opened and grandly celebrated.  A large crowd comprising Emory University and Oxford College alumni, faculty, and staff as well as representatives from the local community was on hand to tour the facility and observe the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Remarks were given by Oxford College Dean Stephen H. Bowen; John Gregory, Jr. 70Ox 72C, son of retired Oxford College professor John Gregory, Sr. and the late Sara Gregory, a long-time Oxford librarian; Katherine Couch 14Ox 16C, Oxford College sophomore; Rev. Max Vincent, pastor of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church; Kitty McNeill 85G, associate dean and Oxford College librarian; and Art Vinson 66Ox 68C, chair of the Oxford College Board of Counselors.
