Learning a new language this semester? There are several resources available to aid your study of a foreign language.
The Emory College Language Center promotes the teaching and learning of languages across Emory University. The ECLC provides a variety of online resources for self-learning a foreign language.
The DuoLingo website and accompanying app is a fantastic resource. DuoLingo makes learning a new language fun through gamification techniques: earn points for correct answers, race against the clock, and level up. There are also flashcard apps you can download for practice.
The public library system of Georgia provides Mango Languages software, similar to Rosetta Stone, for free. Mango offers programs for over 70 languages! You can use this software online, but will need a Georgia public library card to login to the system. Visit the Newton County Library website for more information on obtaining a library card. Oxford College librarians can help you get started with the software once you have a Georgia public library card.
Of course, you can always ask a librarian for help! Schedule a research consultation today for one-on-one help with a librarian.
If you are working on your language skills, we’d love to hear which tools and resources have been most helpful for you!
