Volunteer with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Strong4Life Program!

What is Fit Together Gwinnett?

Fit Together is a family-centered wellness program hosted by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Strong4Life’s child wellness experts. The program is open to children ages 6 to 11 with overweight or obesity, and their families, who have been referred by their doctor to participate. The program takes place at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville, Ga., where our volunteers play a key role in ensuring that the participants not only have tons of fun, but also help them learn skills to build healthy habits for life. At each session participants engage in group games, sports, nature walks, nutrition lessons, cooking demonstrations and more!

Emory Community: Emory American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative Interest

The Emory American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative chapter is a 501c3 nonprofit aimed to increase lung cancer screening in underserved communities. Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer-related death, and student volunteers would gain valuable clinical and volunteer experience speaking directly to community members about lung cancer screening, helping them evaluate their eligibility, and increasing the health literacy of Atlanta’s communities.
