This week I have been trying to get more sleep. I went to bed by nine pm last night and it was nice. I would to continue to prioritize this aspect of my health. I feel like at an institution like Emory, one which is very competitive and sleepless, it is important to remember how valuable rest is. By having more compassion for myself this semester, I will be better equipped to get the rest that my body needs. The experience made me feel like I could have been getting work done (so a bit anxious) but I was so tired that it didn’t quite matter. My values have shifted a bit this semester towards the direction of my own self compassion and this ‘task’ is an example of the ways which I can continue to take better care of myself.
