To make sure you are prepared in any situation, take a look at the following list for ideas.
- Always dial 911 in case of an emergency. It is also important to have the numbers for the Police Department/Security on hand.
- Visit Accident.Emory.edu to learn how to report workplace accidents/injuries.
- Create an evacuation plan for your family and co-workers.
- Have a meeting place at home and at work in case of separation.
- Designate alternate routes if roads are inaccessible.
- Create a disaster supply kit to last for a few days (canned food, water, first aid, etc.).
- Test fire extinguisher yearly.
- Learn the Heimlich maneuver.
- Learn CPR.
- Visit Ready.gov for valuable information and resources.
