Lab Equipment Repairs and Disposal

Do you have lab equipment (refrigerators, centrifuges, hot plates/stirrers, computers used in the lab, incubators, ovens etc.) that needs to be repaired, or is ready for surplus?

To help ensure that your equipment is safe to handle, use the equipment hazard tag!

The Equipment Hazard Tag must be affixed to any piece of equipment which is:

  • Removed from a laboratory or laboratory area for service or maintenance.
  • Transferred or relocated to another area.
  • Removed from service and ready for surplus.

Lab Equipment Repairs and Disposal regarding larger items like biosafety cabinets also need clarification as we encountered many challenges recently with the removal of current cabinet that was to be replaced with a new.
