All fire incidents must be reported to the Emory Police Department (EPD) after the incident has been mitigated.

How to report a fire:

  1. Call EPD to report the fire incident at 404-727-8005 (EPD will notify Emory Fire Safety)
  2. If a fire extinguisher was used:
    1. Complete a Work Management “Fire Extinguisher” Work Order found here, so the fire extinguisher can be replaced by the building mechanic
    2. Place a note on the fire extinguisher to identify where it came from and the date
  3. Report all fire incidents to EPD that involve the following actions:
    1. Fire extinguisher use
    2. Water
    3. Smothering or stomping
    4. Any mitigation to extinguish the fire
    5. Any injuries
  4. If no mitigation was needed, it is not required to report a fire incident
    1. This may include a flash that self-extinguishes with no damage or injury
