All fire incidents must be reported to the Emory Police Department (EPD) after the incident has been mitigated.
How to report a fire:
- Call EPD to report the fire incident at 404-727-8005 (EPD will notify Emory Fire Safety)
- If a fire extinguisher was used:
- Complete a Work Management “Fire Extinguisher” Work Order found here, so the fire extinguisher can be replaced by the building mechanic
- Place a note on the fire extinguisher to identify where it came from and the date
- Report all fire incidents to EPD that involve the following actions:
- Fire extinguisher use
- Water
- Smothering or stomping
- Any mitigation to extinguish the fire
- Any injuries
- If no mitigation was needed, it is not required to report a fire incident
- This may include a flash that self-extinguishes with no damage or injury
