The School of Medicine (SOM), in collaboration with Emory College of Arts and Sciences (ECAS) and Georgia Institute of Technology, has established a process to review and approve requests for undergraduates to serve in SOM labs this Summer. All undergraduates must be approved through this process for this Summer, regardless of their current status.
An undergraduate student may be allowed to return to or join an SOM lab if they are in one of the following categories:
- Emory students registered for either Emory Course: XXXX 495A/B (HonorsResearch for Credit), XXXX 399R or 499R (Research for Credit).
- Georgia Tech students registered for Georgia Tech Course: XXXX4699.
- Studentsinvolved in the Emory IMSD or SIRE undergraduate research
- Studentsinvolved in the Emory or Georgia Tech SURE program or SURE affiliate program.
- Students hired through Emory HR (PIs willsubmit information about hired students to SOM for review purposes only and should follow all HR hiring procedures).
A PI can submit a request approval/acknowledgment to return to SOM labs using this form: (https://is.gd/undergradsinsomlabssummer). The submission deadline is Monday, May 17, 2021. If the student is 100% remote, they do not have to go through this process. For additional information, please contact Lisa Carlson at Lisa.Carlson@emory.edu.
