Oh, Erica, this was stunning. The images, the prose, your putting your heart into it. Thank you. Dr. Scheib also offered me a wonderful metaphor when my mom died: she said grief was like a cat. When it wanted your attention, it would jump into your lap. But you couldn’t coax it into your lap just because you had time to tend it at that moment.
