Elsevier is a large publishing company that produces Scopus and Science Direct among many other resources and publications.  See if you qualify for complimentary 6 month access to ScienceDirect.  This could be a great way to stay on top of recent publications in your field before landing that first research position.

Elsevier’s Postdoc Free Access Program is back. The program is designed to help early career researchers who are between positions stay up-to-date in their respective fields. Eligible applicants can receive complimentary access to journals and books on ScienceDirect for up to 6 months. Researchers who currently do not have a research position and have received their PhD’s in the last 5 years or less can learn more about the program and submit their details through the following website:

 The deadline for applications is August 31, 2014. After applications have been reviewed, eligible candidates will receive a personal code that they can use to sign up for 6 months of free access to ScienceDirect.
