This week we said goodbye to our most recent graduate, Dr. Jen Bon
Jen will be joining the faculty at GA Perimeter College, overseeing the UG science lab program. Congrats Jen! We’ll miss you.
Blakey group welcomes two new postdocs
Dr. Karthik Jaganathan and Dr. Santhosh Kumar (joint with MacBeth group) joined our research team this week. We’re excited to have two new great scientists to drive our catalysis and sustainable chemistry program
Marcella Putri Joins the Blakey Group
We’re delighted that Marcella has chosen to pursue her graduate research with us. Looking forward to many exciting discoveries. Welcome Marcella!
Jen Bon successfully defends her Ph.D.
Congrats Dr. Bon! Jen published our first work developing C-H functionalization reactions inspired by optically and electronically active molecules. She was a founding member of the Center for C-H functionalization, and played an important roll presenting our phase II proposal to the NSF. Jen will graduate at the end of the semester. We’ll miss you Jen!
Aidi Kong successfully defends her Ph.D.
Congratulations Aidi – a wonderful body of work that reflects your scholarship, insight and tenacity. A beautiful Ph.D. Good luck in New Jersey. We’ll miss you!
Cameron Herting Wins SURE Research Poster Prize
Every year, more than 100 undergraduate students participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience at Emory University. The program culminates with a poster symposium, and students from across the disciplines present their results. Lab member and CCHF summer fellow Cameron Herting took 1st prize for his summer’s research on iridium catalyzed enantioselective C-H functionalization reactions. Congratulations Cameron!
