We’re delighted to welcome Taylor Nelson to the group as a doctoral student. Taylor is excited to develop new catalytic reactions that will increase the efficiency with which new drugs are discovered and manufactured.
Akuamma Alkaloid Studies in Org. Lett.
Eric’s creative approach to the akuammiline alkaloids is published in Org. Lett. (DOI: 10.1021/acs.orglett.6b03406). Congrats Eric!
Breezing through quals…
Amaan, Caitlin and Jacob all passed their second year qualifying exams with flying colors. Congrats team!
The Total Synthesis of Malagashanine
Our manuscript describing the total synthesis of malagashanine appeared on line today (http://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlepdf/2016/SC/C6SC03578G). Congrats Aidi, Danny, Nadege, Ricardo and Eric.
Welcome New Graduate Students!
The Blakey group welcomes Taylor Nelson, Elaine Liu and Dave Bruns to the group as rotation students this semester. The exciting world of catalysis and reaction development awaits you!
Eric represents the group in San Diego
Senior graduate student Eric Andreansky represented the group at the spring ACS National Meeting in San Diego, presenting his research outlining the development of synthetic strategies for the akuama alkaloids.
Aryl C-H Iodination accepted for publication in JACS
Qinqin’s discovery of a novel C-H iodination reaction for electron deficient aromatic systems, and it’s applicability in the synthesis of novel electron transport materials will be published in JACS. Great collaborative effort working with the members of the Marder, Amassian and Borovik groups to explore the materials applications and probe mechanism. Congrats Qinqin.
A New Iridium Catalyst for Enantioselective C-H Functionalization
Our work describing a new catalyst for enantioselective intermolecular C-H functionalization with acceptor only diazo compounds is published in Chemical Science. Congrats team!
Welcome new researchers
The Blakey group welcomes new graduate students Amaan Kazerouni, Jacob Burman and Caitlin Bridges
Welcome new researchers
