At the National Center for Atmospheric Research, under the instruction of Dr. Andrew Finley (Michigan State University), Dr. Doug Nychka (NCAR), Dr. Alix Gitelman (Oregon State University), and Malcom Itter (Michigan State University), I learned advanced Bayesian spatial statistics that use environmental data (site). I was the only public health scientist in attendance but that allowed for rich conversations about how these analyses can be applied to environmental epidemiological questions, especially for climate change & health issues. Travel was supported by a Laney Graduate School Professional Development Support award.
