Revised May 24, 2022: we have not activated Course Pacing at Emory University. I mistakenly thought Instructure made it available for course-by-course activation without our decision, but they did not. We do not plan to enable it during the feature preview period at this time.
Instructure introduced an optional feature preview of Course Pacing in the Canvas Code Deploy on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Teachers can use the Modules area’s Course Pacing button to specify numbers of days between assignment due dates in sequence starting from the day each student’s course enrollment begins. Starting on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, teachers may also add blackout dates for course pacing. Course pacing’s target use case is the self-paced, asynchronous online course; it is not a pressing feature for the traditional course with one pace for all students. Teachers can enabled course pacing on a course-by-course basis in the Settings > Feature options tab. Click here for the Course Pacing feature overview.
