Join us in a GIS Day celebration on Wednesday, November 19 at 2:00pm in the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship (Woodruff Library 3rd floor). Come get some hands-on GIS experience, hear brief project presentations from a variety of disciplines, enjoy refreshments, and meet other Emory folks interested in maps and geographic information systems.
The celebration will last from 2:00 – 5:00, but events are scheduled in 30-minute blocks so feel free to drop in for just part of the fun. The schedule for the event is:
2:00 – 2:30 Welcome, Snacks, and Overview of GIS support offered in the ECDS
2:30 – 3:00 Workshop 1 (CartoDB)
3:00 – 3:30 Lightening Talks Round 1 (Four 5-min presentations, plus questions)
3:30 – 4:00 Game
4:00 – 4:30 Lightening Talks Round 2 (Four 5-min presentations, plus questions)
4:30 – 5:00 Workshop 2 (Google Fusion Tables)
All the GIS Day events are open to all students, faculty, or staff who may be interested. Contact Megan Slemons (megan [dot] slemons [at] emory [dot] edu), the GIS Services Research Library Fellow, with any questions.
