Applicants are required to submit a letter of recommendation, résumé, academic transcript, and a personal statement that includes a description of their research interests and career goals. All materials should be gathered before proceeding with the application.
Students will be ranked and selected based on the following criteria:
- United States Citizenship or Permanent Residency (valid green card),
- Identification within an underrepresented ethnic minority group in the biomedical sciences (e.g., Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander),
- Interest in pursuing a career in psychological research, including why they would like to participate in the program,
- Strong academic record that is competitive for a PhD program (e.g., GPA ≥ 3.0 and some experience in formal coursework in psychology), and
- From an institution that does not have a psychological PhD program.
Preference will also be given to juniors with an interest in pursuing graduate education within the next 1-2 years.
