Hello!
This page was created by Elayne Elliott, Tim Peterson, and Danielle Weiss to display our project for our environmental science course titled Visualizing the City. The course itself focuses on encouraging students to explore Atlanta – past, present, and future – and using software mapping software to tell stories about the area.
For our project, we decided to focus on the evolution of green space on Emory’s campus. In the earliest years of Emory’s Atlanta campus, the campus was primarily a driving campus dominated by roads rather than walk ways. We were particularly interested in the way that Emory incorporated green space during this transition and how we currently use and preserve natural spaces today.
On this page you will find maps of Emory’s campus over time that track green space and suggestions that we have to improve campus.
Enjoy!
Elayne, Tim, and Danielle
