春眠不觉晓,

处处闻啼鸟。

夜来风雨声,

花落知多少。

翻译:

              春天的早晨,天已经亮了很久了,还沉沉的睡着,没有一点儿知觉。到处都可听到鸟儿快乐鸣叫的声音。想起了昨天夜里的一场风雨,不知道吹落了多少早绽的春花?

Translation:

       On this spring morning, the sun has already risen high in the sky, but I’m still sleeping soundly and have no awareness of it at all. The happy sound of birds singing can be heard everywhere. I think of last night’s rain and wonder how many spring blossoms have fallen.

              孟浩然,字皓然(西元六八九—七四零)。 四十几岁以前,他一直隐居在襄阳附近的鹿门山。四十岁时才来到长安。他的诗活泼灵动,尤长于五言诗。

Meng Haoran (689-740). Before the age of 40 years old, he was a hermit and lived in Lumen Mountain  near Xiangyang City. At the age of 40, he came to Changan City.  His poems are lively and inspiring and he was especially famous for writing poems with five characters to a line.
