Dementia-Friendly Online Worship Services

Purpose: The goal of this study is to design and test how tailored 10-minute online worship services support the well-being of caregivers and their family members with memory impairment or a form of dementia.

Families will be asked to attend 6 services online and participate in up to 3 interviews to answer questions that will assess their well-being. Families will also be observed during service. Persons with memory impairment or dementia will only participate in worship services.

Accommodations will be made for families without access to technology.

In order to participate

Family Caregivers Must Be:

  • > 18 years of age
  • Black / African American
  • Providing care to a family or friend with memory impairment
  • English Speaking

Persons Living With Dementia Must Be:

  • African American / Black
  • Living at home or with a family member
  • Have a family caregiver that is willing to participate
  • English Speaking

Honorarium: $25 Gift Card for Each Interview Completed by Families
