Dementia-Friendly Community Assessment Tool

The Dementia Friendly Community Assessment project seeks to create a tool to measure dementia-friendly communities. There is a call to rigorously evaluate dementia-friendly community initiatives, but no known comprehensive evaluation tools exist to assess small communities, such as churches and community centers.
Purpose: Develop a measure (DCAT tool) to assess the level of dementia friendliness of a community and assess the validity and reliability of the DCAT tool in the Alter church community.
Involved in Study:
- Focus Groups
- Individual Interviews
- Implementation of Assessment Tool
Eligibility Criteria: Any person that attends or leads an Alter affiliated church
