I am happy to announce that I have been selected by the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, for a Fulbright specialist grant.
In representing Emory’s Goizueta Business Library, I will be teaching an information literacy course to library staff in universities and other tertiary institutions like polytechnics and teacher training institutions. My aim is to teach them how to plan and run information literacy training for their clientele.
Among other projects, I will attend research seminars and visit area libraries. The grant, commencing June 30, is for 42 days.
I was also fortunate to have had specialist grants at Maastricht University in the Netherlands in 2011 and at Koc University in Turkey in 2008. LITS staff should check the Fulbright site to learn about the many and varied grants available to U.S. scholars.
I would like to bring some good paperbacks on this trip, which will then be donated to area libraries. If you would like to donate a few books, please stop by the business library.
