Dennis House is the new lead officer in Library Security. In this role, Dennis runs the second floor as lead officer and trains new and current officers. Prior this role, Dennis has been a senior library security officer since 2005.
Before coming to Emory, Dennis worked at the Raleigh–Durham International Airport Authority as a senior customer service representative for five years. He also spent a year as a security officer at Duke University.
Born in Greenville, NC, Dennis attended North Carolina State and majored in construction management. He also attended Wilson Technical Institute to get his state certification in construction management. Dennis moved to Atlanta to take care of his brother back in 2008.
Dennis enjoys college football and taking his four grandkids to various parks in North Carolina.
When asked what he loves the most about working in the Woodruff Library, Dennis said, “I love giving advice to the students and putting smiles on their faces.”
