On March 13, the Wellness Committee is going to host a chair massage event in the Jones Room and the Woodruff Library. The event will be from 12:20 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be four therapists doing 10-minute massage sessions during that time, with a short break around 2:20 to 2:40. Sign up information will be sent out in the next week.

Many of us have never taken the plunge to enjoy massage therapy. Studies show that massage therapy:

  • Reduces stress
  • Improves circulation
  • Reduces pain
  • Eliminates toxins
  • Improves flexibility
  • Improves sleep
  • Enhances immunity
  • Reduces fatigue
  • Alleviates depression and anxiety (source: Urban Nirvana)

Additionally, employers benefit by providing massage therapy at work with increased motivation, improved morale, greater company appreciation, less absenteeism, and greater productivity (source: Balance on Buffalo).

So, mark your calendars today and enjoy the benefits of massage therapy!
